Stomping Grounds: Senior Seminar Highlights Show
Reed Gulden
My work explores the chaotic, humorous, and uncanny possibilities of graphic design, physical collage, and the cyanotype printing process. These prints bring together repetitive, yet expansive uses of imagery that interest me both visually and texturally. I aim for the work to be as visually engaging as it is mentally stimulating—inviting viewers into a balance of relatability and uncertainty. I enjoy things that are a little strange, and cyanotype printing—with its deep blue tone and quietly distinctive presence—offers a medium that satisfies that uniqueness I’m drawn to.
I rarely begin a piece with a defined endpoint. Instead, I embrace a process that unfolds through intuition, curiosity, and play. While these pieces are rooted in my fascination with indulgence and vice, I invite you to approach them with an open mind: let your eyes wander, loosen your expectations, and enjoy.
