Our movement through space is structured and mediated by complex, overlapping, and often conflicting layers of what we call the ‘built’ environment (ranging from the simple paved path to the landfill earth on which an entire neighborhood is constructed). In my work, I consider how architecture interposes itself between people and the natural world to divide us from non-human life and establish novel, enlivening relationships with ecology and the landscape.
