I started by shooting some footage in Hell’s Kitchen, and eventually ended up choosing frames from the video to paint. In the video, I focused on essentially anything in Hell’s Kitchen I found beautiful or interesting, adding freeze frames to highlight the parts of the video that I ended up depicting in paint. Only my favorite scenes—the images that caught my eye—were translated from video to canvas.
