Caitlin Bury
NONE OF US KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING

This personal project investigates the relationship between a place and a person. In this particular case, the place is Hell’s Kitchen and the person is me, Caitlin Bury. Although I’m not a native, I still feel a strong connection to the neighborhood and the city itself. Lost as a person, I believed that all of my problems had to do with Hell’s Kitchen — the apartment, the street, etc. However, it was more of a mental health problem than location problem. Even so, I moved to Hell’s Kitchen looking for a way out or as an escape from California, but instead, the thing I was really trying to escape… was myself. Using animation and my own prose, NONE OF US KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING is given life.
