Over the decades my obsession with rock forms continued. At Yuanming Yuan (the Garden of Perfect Brightness), part of the old Imperial ruins in China, I photographed the large limestone rocks from Lake Taihu. They are full of holes caused by thousands of years of tide-powered erosion, yet they seem surprisingly natural in these Beijing gardens constructed during the 18th and 19th centuries.
