Whirlwind Series

For this series I chose to work on circles, because to me they embody perfection, a representation of the circle of life, of coming 360, to the end to a chapter. I chose wood as my back ground because its organic nature and individual markings. I tried to find ways to manipulate these characteristics by filling the space with lines and textures that enhanced its natural qualities, while at the same time filling it with the chaos that exhausts my mind. I wanted something to reflect the maniac tendencies I have that interrupt my day-to-day existence. I wanted to break the perfection of the circle and project my discomfort as a way to alleviate my anxiety. The color pallet represents my different moods, I associate colors with feelings and I like to combine strong primary colors that represent my normal merry disposition interjected with sharp lines that break the fluidity of the space.
