My work depicts ambiguous figures in clearly defined architectural spaces to explore how unconscious mental structures filter our perception of an absurd, unclassifiable reality. The checkerboard floor, or Mosaic Pavement, acts as a conceptual and thematic thread that suggests a fixed understanding of the world through binaries. Mixed media elements work to dismantle this sense of fixedness by operating by their logic, dependent only on symbolic imagery rather than an accurate representation.
