Project Harriman

Since the start of Summer 2019, I’ve decided to focus my project on data. I collected data on several hikes I’ve done throughout the lower half of New York State, monitoring parameters about myself and the terrain I was hiking. Collected measurements included heart rate, altitude, calorie burn, distance traveled, pace, and GPS data. Photos and video were taken as well to document the states and features of the places I hiked. Ultimately, I came up with a string sculpture that illustrated the transmission of data from one point to the next and several infographics depicting the mountains I hiked by the data collected along the trails I walked.
