A View, 2013 consists of a video and drawing by Chihiro Nishio.
The video documents the artist in a studio setting as she repeatedly attempts to trace passing vehicles from a projected video.

This endless activity is usually presented as site-specific work in progress, with the drawings often made in pencil directly on the wall; however, in this version for Fordham University’s Center Gallery the drawings have been translated into vinyl and applied directly to the gallery’s glass doors.

Chihiro Nishio is a graduate from Tokyo University of the Arts Musical Creativity and the Environment Department and is currently a doctoral student in the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies at the University of Tokyo. Her research is based on ecological psychology and focuses on performance art, human movement and its development.
